MEYER LEMON & HONEY LAVENDER LEMONADE

One of my favorite flavors that I try to incorporate into everything is lavender and honey. These two marry so well that I have created this recipe for the perfect honey and lavender lemonade. The Meyer lemons are tangy but not too sour which compliment the smooth honey background and floral lavender notes. It's addicting trust me.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Meyer lemon juice - about 8 lemons

6 cups of water divided

1 and 1/2 cups of granulated sugar

1 heaping tablespoon of honey

2 and 1/2 tablespoons of culinary lavender buds

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a small saucepan, add granulated sugar, 2 cups of water, and lavender buds and bring to a boil

2. once it boils, remove it from the heat and add the heaping tablespoon of honey (or more if you prefer more sweetness) - let steep in pan for an hour or two

3. Combine strained lemon juice and 4 cups of water in a pitcher

4. After the lavender syrup has steeped and is cooled, strain it into the lemon juice and water

5. slice some Meyer lemons and add to pitcher for garnish
